Solid Weekend for the Bobcats, Move to 4-0

Feb. 20, 2010(San Marcos) – The Texas State Bobcats improved their record to 4-0 this weekend with wins against the University of Missouri and conference foe Texas A&M. The contest with Mizzou was a rematch from last season and the home opener for the Bobcats.

Texas State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on the Tigers, a lead that would not be relinquished. Penalties had a significant impact on the game as Texas State capitalized on several extra man opportunities in the second half.

The Bobcats returned to action on Sunday afternoon and once again grabbed an early lead on Texas A&M. The Bobcat defense, led by senior goaltender Asa Spain, withstood several man down situations throughout the game and proved to be the difference maker in the contest.

The Bobcats will be back to work on Monday in preparation for their first big road trip of the season. The team will travel to DFW to take on rival North Texas on Friday night and Texas Christian on Saturday.
